A coin for every place. Paid to the people who go there.
maps.fun links a physical place to a coin. Trading it is fun; visiting the place is how you earn from it.
Where every trading fee goes
If nobody has checked in yet, the explorers' pool waits for the first explorer. If a place has no verified local for 30 days, the locals' pool goes to explorers instead.
1. Paste a place
A Google Maps link (short maps.app.goo.gl links too), a landmark, a café, a neighborhood, a whole city, or plain coordinates. One place, one coin: the first launch wins.
2. AI coins it
Claude reads the place (what it is, where, what it's known for) and writes its name, ticker, tagline and lore. The art is drawn from the place's colors, or by AI, or you upload your own. Edit anything before launch.
3. It launches on pump.fun
The coin's pump.fun creator is its own fee vault, a wallet only maps.fun controls. The launcher doesn't keep the creator fees: the place does.
4. Explorers check in
Go there and check in once a day: your phone's location inside the place, plus a photo you take there. A person reviews every check-in; once approved, each day you checked in earns you a share of the explorers' pool for 7 days.
5. Locals claim their part
Creators who make content about the place, its official pages and its businesses apply as locals with their X account or wallet. A post with a one-time code proves the X account; then AI and a reviewer check they're really local.
6. Everyone claims in SOL
Every 10 minutes the vault collects the coin's trading fees and credits explorers and locals. Claim whenever you like: the SOL goes straight to your wallet.
Fair play
- One check-in per wallet, per place, per day: your location inside the place (precise to 100 m) and a photo you take there, together.
- A person reviews every check-in before it earns. Refused on sight: a photo used before, the coin's or the place's photo from the web, a photo taken elsewhere or more than 24 hours ago, a second wallet on the same phone, and impossible travel between two places.
- Cheating gets the wallet blocked, and its check-ins of the last 7 days stop earning.
- Positions are stored rounded to about 10 m, only to audit check-ins. Photos are published without their metadata.
- Reviewers also remove locals who aren't local.
- Nothing here is investment advice. Coins can go to zero.
